Boom Chicago alum Colton Dunn is a very funny comedian, actor, writer, and producer.

Colton just finished up a very successful six season run as Garett on the NBC comedy Superstore. One of the network’s highest rated shows, the workplace comedy found its footing in the second year when it garnered critical acclaim, getting 100% positive remarks on Rotten Tomatoes. ‘Superstore …stakes its claim as one of the most lovable ensembles on television, fleshing out its charming cast while expertly teasing out its central romance.’ It did not receive a prominent run in the Netherlands for some reason.

Earlier Colton worked on the legendary sketch comedy show Key & Peele where he served as writer, producer, and an occasional performer throughout its five-season run. He received two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Writing on a Variety Series for his work on Key & Peele.

He was also the scene stealing limo driver in Blockers, the hysterical comedy written, directed by and starring (fellow Boom alums) Kay Cannon and Ike Barinholtz.

From 2002-4, Colton lived in Amsterdam and performed at Boom Chicago, working on shows like Rock Stars and Boom Chicago saves the world, (Sorry About the Mess). That was the era with, among others, Jordan Peele, Brendan Hunt, Suzi Barrett, Heather Campbell, and Jim Woods.

Colton Dunn will be part of the Q&A series at the 2021 Boom Chicago Comedy Festival! We will discuss his days in Amsterdam, his Hollywood experience and his career since then. Dates and details to be announced soon.
