SCENEWORK AND INTRO TO GAME

This class focuses on initiating and sustaining long-form improvisational scenes. The course starts with a focus on scene fundamentals, acting in improv and an introduction to playing the game of the scene.

The Free Association’s Intro to Improv is a prerequisite for this course. However, if you have other significant long-form improv experience, you may be able to take this course. Please email first to obtain permission at hello@boomchicago.nl.

8-WEEK COURSES

Introduction into Long-Form Scene Work. After an introduction to improv, this class focuses on initiating and sustaining long-form improvised scenes.  The course starts with a focus on scene fundamentals, acting in improv and an introduction to playing the game of the scene. The Free Association’s Intro to Improv is a prerequisite for this course. This Scenework and Intro to Game course will be 8 weeks long, from 7th January to 25th February 2019. Classes will be every Monday from 19:00-22:00 and will take place Boom Chicago, Rozengracht 117, 1016 LV Amsterdam.

COURSE FEE – This course is 240 (+booking fee). A 50 (+booking fee) deposit is required to hold place.

INTENSIVE COURSE

Introduction into Long-Form Scene Work. This Scenework and Intro to Game course will be 4 sessions long, from Monday 11th February to Thursday 14th February 2019. Classes will be every day from 10:30-13:00 and 14:30 – 17:30 and will take place Boom Chicago, Rozengracht 117, 1016 LV Amsterdam.

UNSURE ABOUT YOUR TRAINING?

Check our Intro to Long-Form Improv course. There is no pre-requisite for this course; anyone can join regardless of previous experience. If you have done a little improv before but not much long-form, it is recommended to start here.

THE NEXT LEVEL IS ADVANCED GAME

A continuation of Scene Work and Intro to Game, this class is a deeper look into the ‘Game of the Scene’, with a focus on initiating with premise, heightening the game, and an introduction to forms. The Scene Work and Intro to Game course is a prerequisite. There will be a public class performance at the end of the course.
