PEOPLE LIKE WHAT WE DO

‘If you don’t turn down the volume, I’m calling the police’ — Rude Neighbor
Dear our future PA,
We, Saskia Maas and Andrew Moskos, are looking for someone to work closely with us for a fantastic job. We are two entrepreneurs who started Boom Chicago 33 years ago (with Pep Rosenfeld) and we are still just as enthusiastic and passionate about our work, even if we have more grey hairs (her) and less hair (him). Saskia is CEO. Andrew is the creative lead. We have been married for 25 years.
We move quickly, do a lot in a week, and have different exciting businesses. Our most famous is the Boom Chicago venue on the Rozengracht with three theaters that is led by our general director Eva and artistic director Brad. Boom Chicago produces and hosts a variety of different productions including Boom Chicago improv comedy shows, stand up shows, visiting comedians, corporate events during the day and evening and funny events like professional wrestling and country line dancing. The Rozengracht is also home to the Boom Chicago Academy and a community of 200 improv students.
We run Boom Chicago for Business ourselves, our corporate arm that creates high stakes events where we host, coach and run (executive) training programs. Saskia leads Falcon Artists, her boutique management agency that actively works with established and upcoming actors and actresses on their national and international careers. And as a bit of extra background, Saskia also is the director and founder of InterActing, our non-profit foundation that teaches improvisation and life skills to teenagers with autism in four cities.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the fast lane and can help us stay focused on the important projects, our busy agenda and extensive to-do lists. We need someone who understands the needs of a leadership team, who can plan ahead, oversee, be in control and anticipate what is coming next. You need to not see a project as a series of boxes to check, but something with a series of outcomes you stand behind. Can you work on our level and thrive in a job with autonomy and collaboration? We use Boom Chicago’s improv principles on stage in our work as well. This means saying ‘Yes-and’ instead of ‘yes-but.’
We celebrate active listening, and ‘love an idea for a minute.’ We are constantly curious and are open to competing ideas.
Hopefully together we can excel and achieve even more. We also have a very cute dog who doesn’t shed or bark.
Warmly, Saskia and Andrew
