27 June at 20:00: Music Improv Spectacular feat. Derek Scott Mitchell

Kicking off the festival’s opening night, local legend Derek Scott Mitchell (@doubledutch) will join the Boom Chicago mainstage cast for Music Improv Spectacular. Known for his commanding presence and sharp wit, Derek will share his true stories, which the cast will then transform into spontaneous, hilarious musical improv, characters and even songs.

28 June at 16:00: Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers: Live Podcast Taping

Brothers Seth and Josh Meyers bring their hit Family Trips podcast to Amsterdam for the first time! Join them for a special BCCF edition with very special Boom guests talking about their Amsterdam stories. Scheduled to appear are Ike Barinholtz (The Studio) Brendan Hunt (Ted Lasso), Jill Benjamin, Pete Grosz, Andrew Moskos, Pep Rosenfeld, Larry & Hilary, their very funny parents and more.

28 June at 19:00: Improv Spectacular XL

Enjoy 30 years of Boom comedy innovation in one show! This fast-paced funny night features our top cast making you laugh while waiters bring drinks to your table. The evening starts with short-form improv and games with rules, bells, and lots of audience suggestions. We need a job and a movie-style! Let’s go! We finish with long-form for a complete improvisation journey!

This two-hour hysterical show starts the talented current cast plus special guests. These are our stars of today and the international stars of tomorrow! 

28 June at 22:00: Shot of Improv XL

Boom Chicago’s most loved alumni and friends return for one mega show. Scheduled to appear are Seth Meyers, Brendan Hunt (Ted Lasso), Ike Barinholtz (The Studio) Derek Scott Mitchell (@Double Dutch), Josh Meyers, Pete Grosz, Jill Benjamin, Josie O’Reilly, Dave Buckman, Mike Orton Toliver, and our fantastic current mainstage cast: Today’s stars meet tomorrow’s stars! in Shot of Improv XL—a high-energy, anything-goes comedy show.

29 June at 22:00: PowerPints

Drink and learn things at PowerPints, the original comedy show where presenters have five minutes to deliver a PowerPoint on any subject they like. You won’t believe what crazy things they come up with!

Past subjects have included a beginner’s guide to hypnotism, the Boston Molasses Flood, the 2002 Olympic ice-skating scandal, and the dietary requirements of Sonic the Hedgehog!

It will be fast, funny and filled with five funny minutes about things you never thought about… until now

1 July at 19:30: Brendan Hunt's The Movement You Need

Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) is one of the stars and creators of Ted Lasso, one of the best comedies in recent memory. He is taking a break from writing the highly anticipated Season four to make a special appearance at the BCCF.

He returns with his acclaimed solo show, The Movement You Need, It’s a dynamic performance blending comedy, storytelling, and inspiring movements that ends of connecting the Beatles to his complicated relationship with his mother. Join Brendan on his critically acclaimed journey that’s as funny as it is thought-provoking. 

1 July at 20:00: The Comedy Embassy: The United Nations of Comedy

Welcome to The Comedy Embassy! Amsterdam’s funniest English-language stand up comedy nights presents a series of lineups with the funniest, local and international standup comedians

The United Nations of Comedy is a special, top-tier bill of international comedians. They serve up razor-sharp wit and side-splitting humor with a global perspective. For locals, expats and international visitors, this show guarantees hysterical, world-class stand-up comedy from a mix of backgrounds.

2 July at 22:30: The Comedy Embassy: Best of the US

The Comedy Embassy, Amsterdam’s funniest English-language stand up comedy nights presents a special U.S. comedy edition. But wait is anything funny happening in America right now? Oh wait, everything!

The Best of the US showcases the sharpest, funniest comedians from all across the States. They all have big punchlines, sharp wit, and that signature American flair. But most interesting, they all got out. These hysterical Americans, armed with especially worldly perspectives, all live in Europe.

3 July at 22:30: Boom @ Night

The Boom Chicago Comedy Festival’s weirdest, loudest, show: BOOM@NIGHT. Come for the comedy and stay for the fun— and because the doors are LOCKED!

Hosted by agent of chaos (and potential FBI agent) Emily Higgson, this show will feature live comedy, music, and more. For comedy super-fans, the comedy-curious, or just the bi-curious — this show is your chance to see something completely new.

Boom@Night is taking Amsterdam by storm — so grab an umbrella and prepare to get WET!

Boom Chicago’s powerhouse cast joins forces with special guests to bring you Drop the Mic— an interactive, music-fueled improv spectacle like no other.

Freestyle rap battles, hilarious musical improv and fast-paced, hip-hop-driven games. Whether you’re a old school b-boy, an improv fan, or just ready for an awesome night out with energy, this show is straight fire.

5 July at 18:00: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

The world’s on fire—so let’s roast it!

What Could Possibly Go Wrong? is a wildly unpredictable, bilingual improv, sketch, and musical comedy experience that dives headfirst into the absurdity of modern life.

From political chaos to everyday disasters, this all-star team—fresh off a successful Netherlands tour and international stages—turns your suggestions into unforgettable moments of hilarity.

5 July at 22:30: The Comedy Embassy

Definitely Amsterdam’s best stand-up comedy! You can’t beat 5 stars on Trip Advisor! and 4.9 stars on Google! We’re that funny!

The Comedy Embassy welcomes hysterical foreign dignitaries from the international stand-up community. They deliver Ambassador-level comedy (or at least Consul General-level comedy) to a very enthusiastic crowd.

This two hour show (including an intermission) brings you four, top English-speaking comedians including the incredible Nira Tal and Rogier Bak. 

5 July at 20:00: Last Minute Stand-Ins

Boom Chicago improvisers and top Amsterdam actors join forces onstage to do what they each do best. The actors act. The improvisers improvise- but at the same time! It’s a hysterical concept unlike any other show at the festival

Our comedians don’t know the scene and must make up their half of the show, trying to make sense of the scene around them. What comes out is amazing and very, very funny!

5 July at 21:30: Epic Rap Battles of History

Epic Rap Battles of History (from Los Angeles) is a comedy rap series created by Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD, which pits historical and pop culture figures against one another in a an rap battle format. It’s sharp writing with big, energetic performances.

The series has amassed over 4 billion views — yes billion — on YouTube and has featured appearances from the world’s biggest stars. including Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, Key & Peele, Lilly Singh, Rhett, and Link.

6 July at 17:00: InterActing with Henry van Loon

Join us for a hilarious and heartwarming improv show that brings together Henry van Loon, perhaps the biggest comedian in the Netherlands, the incredible Boom Chicago cast, and the inspiring InterActing Show Team.

The latter is the best of Boom Chicago’s teenage improvisers on the autism spectrum, known for their trademark, no-filter comedy. Everyone plays together on the Boom stage on this exciting, hilarious show!
