Music Improv Spectacular with Femke Halsema

The opening show of the 3rd Annual Boom Chicago Comedy Festival!

Buckle up for a night of laughter, dance, and song to satisfy your musical comedy needs! This show revolves around guest storyteller Femke Halsema to inspire the Boom cast. This becomes a starting point for original, improvised scenes and spontaneous songs based on their stories.

About the Mayor: Femke Halsema was born on April 25, 1966 and grew up in Enschede. Trained as a criminologist, she held various positions in public administration, including party leader in the House of Representatives and political leader of GroenLinks.

In 2011 she left national politics after twelve years to make a more practical contribution to solving social problems. Since her departure, she has worked as a director in business, in the semi-public sector and in culture. Halsema also published her political memoirs Plush and wrote the essay for the month of philosophy Power and imagination. Halsema has lived in Amsterdam since her student days. She lives with her husband and their two children.
