Boom Chicago

For 30+ years, Amsterdam’s English-language comedy institution has amazed locals, visitors, and critics alike! Boom Chicago combines quick improvisation comedy, razor-sharp writing, stand-up comedy, and songs made up on the spot. People can’t believe how funny the show is.

Boom Chicago launched the careers of many comedy superstars like Seth Meyers, Jordan Peele, Amber Ruffin, and the creators and stars of Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly). Key met Peele at Boom Chicago.

Best of all, the next generation of comedy super- stars is on stage tonight! At Boom Chicago, guests are seated at tables and can enjoy drink service (with friendly prices) before and during the show. Afterwards, join the cast for a drink at the bar. It makes your visit to Boom Chicago easy, exclusive and affordable. There is no minimum number of visitors per year you must provide to be eligible for a Voucher Agreement. Our agreement offers the following benefits:

OTA Agreement
OTA partners can sell show tickets through an API connection with our ticket partner FareHarbor.

Entrance Fees

As we offer many shows in many spaces, ticket prices are dependent on the show. 

Do you want to visit Boom Chicago with a group (> 10 people)? Please contact our reservation department on +31 (0) 20 217 0400 or email hello@boomchicago.nl and inquire about our group packages and group rates. Our office is available on working days from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Opening Hours

Wednesday to Sunday from 6:00 PM – Late.
A visit to Boom Chicago takes on average 2.5 hours.

Accessibility

Our main theater is wheelchair accessible (as is the toilet), but please tell us in advance so we can be ready to welcome you. Email hello@boomchicago.nl or call +31 (0) 20 217 0400. The Upstairs Theater and Attic Theater are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

IMPORTANT 2025 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

PARKING: Easiest: Park at Q-Park Europarking, Marnixstraat 250 (€7,20/hr). Claim a discount here! Then 5 min walk.

Q-PARK ENTRANCE IS NOW VIA ELANDSGRACHT (Google is wrong as of Feb 20). Turn on the tram tracks into Marnixstraat. Then enter garage.

Cheapest: P+R Sloterdijk (park and ride) 15 minute ride plus 6 minute walk From Ring A10, take Exit S102 (Piarcoplein 1). Enter after 10:00am and pay only €1 for 24 hours of parking.

  • Buy return tram tickets at €6 for two people (€1 more each for persons 3, 4, and 5) at the blue machines at the garage.
  • Or ride with your regular OV chip card
  • Check in and check out of all trams or the parking discount does not apply.
  • Checking in with phone or credit card not valid for parking discount (yet)
  • Take tram 19 towards Diemen (Sniep)
  • Get off at De Clerqstraat (15 minute ride). Then a 6 minute walk.
  • Return trip: Ride tram 19 back to Sloterdijk (last stop)
  • Last tram leaves at 0:30.

ARRIVE BY TRAM

New tram routes go to Boom Chicago. None go down Rozengracht. Confirm with Google (which is correct with public transportation).

  • Tram 5 and 13 stop at Rozengracht/Marnixstraat (3 min walk)
  • Tram 7 and 19 (and many buses) stop at Elandsgracht (5 min walk)

ARRIVE BY TRAIN: FROM AMSTERDAM ZUID STATION (Least walking | no transfer | 20 min)

  • From Amsterdam Zuid, take tram 5 to Marnixstraat. (3 min walk)

FROM AMSTERDAM CENTRAAL (both 20 minutes)

  • Best for you: From Amsterdam Centraal Station, take tram 2 or 12 to Paleisstraat. (Then 13 min pretty walk via Paleisstraat)
  • If raining: At Amsterdam Centraal, take bus 12, 21 or 22 (from platform J or K) to Haarlemmerplein. Transfer to tram 5 (towards Amstelveen Stadshart). Get off at Rozengracht. (3 min walk)

ARRIVE BY BIKE

The best possible vehicle. Parking spots everywhere!
