Boom Chicago

For 30 years, Amsterdam’s English-language comedy institution has amazed locals, visitors and critics alike! Boom Chicago combines quick improvisation comedy, razor-sharp writing, and songs made up on the spot. People can’t believe how funny the show is. 

Boom Chicago has launched the careers of many comedy superstars. Seth Meyers began at Boom Chicago. Jordan Peele was their first Oscar winner, and Boom was also where he met Keegan Michael Key (creating Key & Peele together). The creators of stars of Emmy winning Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly), met in Amsterdam and fell in love with football at Boom Chicago. Also Amber Ruffin, Heather Anne Campbell (Rick & Morty) and Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect movies, Blockers). Best of all, the next generation of comedy superstars is on stage tonight! 

At Boom Chicago, guests are seated at tables and can enjoy drink service from our fully stocked bar. Whether you’re a fan of local beers, exquisite wines, expertly mixed cocktails, or alcohol-free options, you can enjoy it before and during the show. And after the show, why not join the cast for a drink in the bar? You may never get this close to these future celebrities again!

It makes your visit to Boom Chicago easy, exclusive and affordable. There is no minimum number of visitors per year you must provide to be eligible for a Voucher Agreement. Our agreement offers the following benefits:

  • The invoice will be issued after your visit

OTA Agreement
OTA partners can sell show tickets through an API connection with our ticket partner
FareHarbor.

Entrance Fees

As we offer many shows in many spaces, ticket prices are dependent on the show. 

Do you want to visit Boom Chicago with a group (> 10 people)? Please contact our reservation department on +31 (0) 20 217 0400 or email hello@boomchicago.nl and inquire about our group packages and group rates. Our office is available on working days from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Opening Hours

Wednesday to Sunday from 6:00 PM – Late.
A visit to Boom Chicago takes on average 2.5 hours.

Accessibility

Our main theater is wheelchair accessible (as is the toilet), but please tell us in advance so we can be ready to welcome you. Email hello@boomchicago.nl or call +31 (0) 20 217 0400. The Upstairs Theater and Attic Theater are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

With Public Transport

From Amsterdam Centraal Station, take tram 13 or 17 to  Rozengracht/Marnixstraat
Tram 5, 13, 17 and 19 all stop at Rozengracht/Marnixstraat

Tram 7 (and many buses) stop at Elandsgracht (then 5 min walk)

By Car

Ask Google, Duh!

PARKING
Closest: Street parking in the Jordaan. (€7,50/hour). Night ticket 19:00 – 24:00 €30

Easiest: Park at Q-Park Europarking, Marnixstraat 250 (€7,20/hr). Then 5 min walk

Cheapest: P+R Sloterdijk (park and ride)
From Ring A10, take Exit S102 (Piarcoplein 1). Enter after 10:00 and pay only €1 for 24 hours of parking.
