Rhys Nicholson

Rhys Nicholson’s passion for live performance has earned them international awards and accolades. Known for their numerous televised stand-up shows in Australia, the UK, and Canada, Rhys was handpicked in 2019 to open for comedy legend Conan O’Brien on his Australian tour. This led to Rhys’ US television debut on “CONAN” (TBS) and the recording of their third stand-up special for Netflix, which received a Best Stand-Up Comedy Special nomination at the 2021 AACTA Awards.

In addition to stand-up, Rhys is a familiar face on TV, appearing in various panel shows, documentaries, and acting roles. Notably, Rhys is a judge on all three seasons of “RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under” and starred in Netflix’s sci-fi comedy “The Imperfects.” Despite the global health crisis, Rhys has co-opened Melbourne’s Comedy Republic, continued acting, and started writing a book of essays.

2022 saw Rhys hosting the Melbourne International Comedy Festival All Stars Gala and touring with the critically acclaimed “Rhys! Rhys! Rhys!” show, which garnered multiple awards and sold-out seasons. In 2023, Rhys performed a nationwide encore tour of the award-winning show and joined Network 10’s “Taskmaster Australia” for season two. Rhys’ first book, “Dish: Spiels, Scoops, Emotional Outbursts and the Occasional Recipe,” is set to release in November 2023.
