GOOD BOY is een hedendaags coming of age verhaal, dat als doel heeft invoelbaar te maken hoe het is om ‘anders’ te zijn. De voorstelling is tegelijkertijd een hart onder de riem voor hen die dat zijn en een steun in de rug voor hen die voor deze mensen op willen komen.
Het is een voorstelling die dieper op de populaire thematiek over gender, seksuele voorkeur en identiteit ingaat. Kunnen we werkelijk zijn wie we willen zijn? En wordt dat door onze omgeving geaccepteerd? En als we al mogen zijn wie we zijn, blijven we dan zo of kunnen we ook nog weer veranderen? Vragen die voor iedereen herkenbaar zijn.
Jürgen Theuns vertelt, speelt en zingt het verhaal van zijn leven, bijgestaan door de jonge acteur Valentijn Banga die Jürgen als puber speelt. Het oprechte autobiografische karakter van GOOD BOY zorgt ervoor dat het publiek wordt meegetrokken en recht in het hart wordt geraakt.

GOOD BOY is a contemporary coming-of-age story, which aims to make what it is like to be ‘different’ tangible. The performance is at the same time an encouragement for those who are and a support for those who want to stand up for these people.
It is a performance that delves deeper into popular themes about gender, sexual orientation and identity. Can we really be who we want to be? And is that accepted by those around us? And if we are already allowed to be who we are, will we stay that way or can we change? Questions that are recognizable to everyone.
Jürgen Theuns tells, plays and sings the story of his life, assisted by young actor Valentijn Banga who plays Jürgen as an adolescent. The sincere autobiographical nature of GOOD BOY ensures that the audience is drawn in and touched right in the heart.

He is a Dutch actor, comedian, presenter and voice actor . He voices the voice of Fanboy in the Nickelodeon – aired animated series Fanboy and Chum Chum , Thomas the Tank Engine, the narrator of the Teletubbies, and Dug from the movie Early Man.
In 2005 Theuns played in the musical Naked Boys Singing , in which eight male actors performed naked and singing. In 1996, together with Marijn de Langen, he won the jury, audience and personality award at the 10th Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival.
His autobiographical performance GOOD BOY will premiere in 2021 (with Valentijn Banga, directed by Ewout Eggink). As a presenter he is associated with the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival. Theuns also works as a director, teaches game improvisation at THOPSS and has his own production company.
