Are you our new brilliant new Sales Assistant?

Our sales assistant should be a sales-focused, self-motivated team player, blah blah blah. The same as every job description. Don’t forget about a client, don’t leave opportunities on the table, don’t be a jerk, etc. That’s the easy part. What we are looking for is someone who gets Boom Chicago. In addition to being part of an amazing sales team, we are a creative place that does lots of different things. It’s not just the same job in and out.

Comedy is at the center of what we do. We mount our own Boom Chicago shows and host visiting comedians. Comedians are funny people to work with and humor is part of our DNA. Life is better when you laugh! We also program external performers, events, our annual comedy festival, parties, classes and cool things. The owners are the same for 30 years and are still active in the place and inspiring to us all.

The principle of improvisation is ‘yes and’ and we believe that. Boom Chicago is the place where bartenders take improv classes and run a club night. It is the place where a new way of increasing sales can be invented, refined and tried in a week.

Since we have three theaters in the venue, we do lots of shows of various quality and goals. Good ideas can come from everywhere including you and the sales team. Have an idea for a group package? Let’s try it. Have a big idea that can sell 350 tickets, let’s put it in the big house. Medium ideas go upstairs and you and your friends clowning around for your friends in the attic. Sure, let’s try it twice.

Now let’s get into the tasks by function:

Sales & Administration:

  • Assist with overall customer service.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing all requested information and doing a proper follow up.
  • Schedule meetings and assist with venue visits.
  • Prepare the proposals & contracts for the Head of Sales & Events.
  • Follow up on our proposals a few days after sending them and respond to any questions if applicable.
  • Manage our client database.
  • Manage customer accounts.
  • Prepare and send out invoices.

Events: Production & Coordination:

  • Understand and record the requirements for each event.
  • Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints.
  • Create a timeline/ agenda for each event.
  • Ensure the communication flow is optimal between the Sales department and the Front of House.
  • Coordinate the event operations in collaboration with the Front of House.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by asking for and recording feedback and reviews.

Your profile:

  • Education level: HBO desired.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience working in a sales environment.
  • Language: Fluent in English. Dutch desired.
